The ACA Skill Assessment course offers participants the opportunity to have their fundamental paddling skills evaluated, along with demonstrating a suitable level of knowledge. This course is designed to assess a participant's ability to perform essential skills and provides documentation of achieving ACA's Level 1 paddling ability. The duration of the course is typically 6-8 hours, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of skills. Included in the course is the provision of a kayak, paddle, and PFD at no additional cost, which can be beneficial for beginners who are still exploring which kayak is right for them. Participants who already own a kayak may be required to use one provided by the course if their own kayak is deemed unsafe or inappropriate for the class. Dressing appropriately for the weather, bringing extra layers in cold weather, and being prepared for complete immersion in rescue classes are essential for a successful and comfortable experience. Participants are advised to bring drinking water, sun protection (such as hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and long sleeves), and to dress for complete immersion in rescue classes. The course offers a practical and hands-on evaluation of paddling skills, providing participants with valuable feedback and documentation of their achievements. Your payment method will be charged a damage deposit of USD 0.00 24h prior to your rental. Pending any damages, the damage deposit will be returned 48h post rental.
